Rodgers: Lallana will assess his options in the summer

February 28, 2020

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has said that midfielder Adam Lallana will evaluate his options during this summer’s transfer window. The England international has been with Liverpool for the past five-and-a-half years but he has been fancied to leave them on a free transfer when his contract concludes in June.

As a result, a number of elite clubs including Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Leicester City have been credited with an interest and Rodgers has openly hinted that the Foxes would make an approach for the former Southampton captain, he told: “Adam is a fantastic player and one I brought into Liverpool.” Read More

It’s no wonder that Paris St-Germain teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe didin’t end up in Liverpool (who were in the running for him before PSG blew the competition away with a huge £100 million bid – even if they had managed to agree terms with Monaco they would have probably struggled to agree personal terms.

According to latest Der Spiegel’s leaks, the France international wanted a clause in his deal that would make him the highest paid player at the club if he ever won the prestigious Ballon D’Or individual award. Read More

Spanish giants Barcelona could cut short their ties with France international Ousmane Dembele in January, according to press reports. The World Cup winner cost the La Liga champs about £100 million just a year and half ago when they lured him away from Borussia Dortmund, but are not ready to cut their losses on him.

The 21-year old has had complaints about his attitude for some time now, and in fact he had the same issues when he was playing in Germany, with the Chief Executive Officer singling him out for his poor time-keeping, enthusiasm in training, and lengthy breaks.  It seems that the Catalan side has decided to take the step of putting the player on the market when the transfer window re-opens in January, with the hope of generating some funds to finance other player acquisitions. Moreno to Barcelona Makes Sense

October 23, 2018

Spanish left-back Alberto Moreno appears to be firmly out of favour at Anfield this season, having only made one appearance in the Carabao Cup defeat against Chelsea, but his struggles at Liverpool aren’t preventing Barcelona from showing keen interest in snapping up the 26-year-old.

“La Liga giants plan shock move” claimed a headline in the Express recently, after picking up on a story published in Spain by Mundo Deportivo, a Catalan outlet that mostly focuses on news surrounding Barcelona. However, the reality of Moreno’s current situation at Liverpool means that such a move wouldn’t be the least bit surprising, for various reasons. Read More

Will Summer Splurge Trigger Instant Success?

August 8, 2018

Liverpool have splashed the cash during the 2018 summer transfer window with Jurgen Klopp adding a number of top-class players to his squad. The Reds have rolled the dice and are banking on their new recruits bringing them instant success this season but they must hit the ground running if they are to overthrow City at the top of the Premier League table.

Liverpool were hugely entertaining to watch last season but the Merseyside club could only finish fourth, 25 points behind champions, Manchester City. They netted 84 times and managed to remain unbeaten at Anfield but despite reaching the Champions League final, they ended the campaign trophy-less. Fans are demanding improvement and the board have responded by stumping up the cash to sign Alisson, Fabinho and Naby Keita. Xherdan Shaqiri also arrives from relegated Stoke but the mercurial Swiss international is only likely to be a fringe player. Read More

Nabil Fekir’s Father Dismisses Liverpool Speculation

Nabil Fekir’s Father Dismisses Liverpool Speculation

June 9, 2018

Nabil Fekir’s father has dismissed the ongoing speculation of his son meeting up with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp. A recent report from France suggested that Fekir had held face-to-face talks with Klopp ahead of his proposed move to Anfield in the summer. However, his father has seemingly ended the gossip by revealing that there has been no contact whatsoever.

“Nabil in Liverpool, that’s wrong,” he told “I hear there are arrangements, stuff like that, I was surprised. I can deny this information right now, it’s not true. Otherwise, Nabil would have told me right away, we are very close. I can guarantee you that he never met him [Klopp]. His dream is to play in the Champions League with his boyhood club.” Read More

Mo Salah: Rewriting The Record Books

Mo Salah: Rewriting The Record Books

May 14, 2018

It has been a season to remember for Mo Salah. The Egypt international scored 32 goals this campaign – surpassing the likes of Luis Suarez, Cristiano Ronaldo and Alan Shearer for most Premier League goals in a single season. Salah has been Liverpool’s main man since moving to Anfield from AS Roma last summer and he has already gone some way to paying off his £37 million transfer fee.

Looking at Salah’s performance in all competitions during 2017/18, the ‘Egyptian King’ has notched 44 goals – a very impressive return indeed. Some believe that he is now the third best player on the planet; it is hard to argue against that opinion. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are in a world of their own but Salah is well and truly in the Ballon d’Or race after his exploits this season. Read More

Attacking Mentality Can Win Liverpool Champions League

May 9, 2018

Liverpool will face Real Madrid later this month in the Champions League final, a game that is sure to be tense, nervy and tight. However, if Liverpool want to win the game then they have to believe that they can, and attack as though they are favourites to lift the trophy. We have seen them at their devastating best in Europe when they have attacked good teams, and that is what we must see once again despite the game being a final played on neutral soil.

When Liverpool threw the kitchen sink at Manchester City in their 3-0 victory over them at the quarter-final stage, the Premier League champions simply didn’t have an answer. They attacked with pace and put City on the back foot, and just when City thought they had a minute to catch their breaths, Liverpool attacked even harder. City are arguably a far better team than Real Madrid, but they couldn’t keep up with Liverpool that night, and that is exactly the kind of performance that will win the team from Merseyside the Champions League. Frank Lampard Suggests Why Liverpool Won’t Win The Champions League

May 9, 2018

BT Sport pundit Frank Lampard believes Liverpool are unlikely to win the Champions League this term as they are still short of stability in the defensive department. The Reds secured the club-record signing of Virgil van Dijk from Southampton to reinforce their backline in January, but they have still struggled to find the consistency with defeats against the likes of Manchester United, Swansea City, and West Bromwich Albion, the latter in the FA Cup.

Speaking on BT Sport, Chelsea favourite Lampard highlighted that the Reds’ strengths upfront, though this may not entirely hide their flaws at the back, he said: “Obviously the front three are fantastic. My only worry is that is it a year or two too early in their progress defensively and as a team?Van Dijk has come in and been fantastic and shored them up.But are they maybe still one or two players short as a team to be able to go all the way?But they’ve definitely got a chance.”
