Rennes winger Jeremy Doku is a major transfer target for immediate past Premier League champions Liverpool. This is according to the report from the Daily Express which revealed that the Reds want to bolster their attacking options with the signing of the Belgian international player.

Liverpool manager JurgenKlopp wants to add a new forward to his squad this summer but this might not be possible if the club don’t sell some of their fringe players as per a recent report. It was reported that Liverpool will have to sell to raise funds for further signings. The Reds have only made a major signing following the arrival of tall centre back Moussa Konate from German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig earlier this summer.
Merseyside giants Liverpool have concentrated mainly on new deals for first team players this summer with the likes of Brazilian international goalkeeper Alisson Becker, Brazilian midfielder Fabinho and others penning respective new deals at the club.
Liverpool might need to sell fringe players such as Swiss international XerdanShaqiri and DivockOrigi to accommodate a place for Rennes winger Doku. Shaqiri has a lot of suitors including Italian Serie A club Lazio, while Belgian international Origi has attracted little interests.
Doku is a Liverpool target as revealed earlier and he joined his current club last summer. Rennes paid around £23m for his services and he could leave the French Ligue 1 team after a solitary season. In his first season as a Rennes player, Doku was able to help his team to a top-six place. Rennes finished sixth and they qualified for the newly created Europa Conference League as a result.
In 30 appearances for Rennes in the league last season, he scored twice in addition to three assists.Doku was a part of the Belgium squad that went all the way to the quarterfinals before they were knocked out at the Euro 2020 tournament.
